A CHANCE ENCOUNTER
Two Young Entrepreneurs; Two Different Paths; Two Different Provinces.
For each of the partners, their story has a different beginning.
Despite where they started, they both ended up on the Canadian Foodgrains
Bank Young Adult Food Study Tour. Having never met, they both flew down in
Nicaragua to meet with Young Adults from across Canada.
They traveled to donor based land banks in Nicaragua and heard the story of Martin;
a farmer who successfully pulled his family out of the poverty cycle. This story
combined with their business intuition sparked their passion for land banks. Since then,
creative juices have been flowing and the model has morphed into the investor based
model it is today.
Homegrown's beginning is deeply rooted in the Soils of Nicaragua.
